Scheduling
The appointment book that answers for itself.
Open your slots, let patients request them, approve or decline in a tap — and stop spending the working day confirming appointments over the phone.
The diary is a person, not a system
In most clinics the appointment book is whoever is nearest the phone. Bookings arrive by call and WhatsApp, get written into a diary, and every one of them needs a confirmation call the day before — which is another person, another hour, every day.
The failure modes are familiar. Two patients written into the same slot. A cancellation that nobody fills because there is no list of who would have taken it. A patient who does not turn up and is never followed up, because the diary has no memory of them once the day has passed.
None of this is a scheduling problem. It is a communication problem that scheduling software usually ignores.
Slots, requests, and confirmations that send themselves
You publish availability up to a month ahead. Patients see genuine open slots and request one; you approve or decline it in a tap, and the confirmation goes out without anyone writing it.
Because the appointment lives on the same record as the patient’s visit history and their bill, a booking is not an isolated line in a diary — it is attached to everything else you know about that person.
Reminders and post-visit follow-ups run on WhatsApp, which is where Indian patients actually read messages. That is the difference between a reminder system that works and one that is technically switched on.
How it works
From open slot to kept appointment
- § 01
You open the slots
Publish availability up to a month ahead, in the shapes your clinic actually works in — not fixed 30-minute blocks imposed by the software.
- § 02
The patient requests one
Patients browse real availability and request a slot from the app, rather than calling to find out what is free.
- § 03
You approve or decline
One tap. The patient is told either way, immediately, without anyone picking up a phone.
- § 04
The reminder goes out
A WhatsApp reminder is sent ahead of the appointment automatically.
- § 05
The visit is recorded
When the patient arrives, the appointment is already attached to their record — the note, the X-ray and the bill all land in the same place.
The day’s list, with requests waiting on one tap. Nobody spent the morning on confirmation calls.
What this actually saves
The confirmation call disappears
Confirmations and reminders are automatic. That is the single largest block of front-desk time in most clinics.
No double bookings
A slot is either open or taken. The diary cannot disagree with itself.
Bookings arrive out of hours
Patients can request a slot at 11pm on a Sunday. The clinic does not have to be awake to receive it.
Every booking has a history
The appointment is attached to the patient record, so you know what happened last time before they sit down.
Verified on both sides
Patients booking through EnamDoc are booking with a dentist whose licence has been checked.
Who this is for
Any clinic where the phone is a bottleneck — which is most of them.
- Clinics where one person is absorbing all inbound calls and WhatsApp messages
- Practices losing slots to no-shows with no way to fill them
- Dentists who want patients to be able to book outside working hours
- Clinics with a visiting specialist whose availability needs to be published separately
FAQ
Questions, answered
- Can patients book without installing an app?
- Patients book through the EnamDoc app today, on iOS or Android. Clinic staff can also add a booking directly from the clinic side for a patient who has called, so no patient is ever turned away for not having the app.
- Do I have to accept every booking request?
- No. Requests come to you for approval — you approve or decline each one in a tap, and the patient is notified of the outcome either way. The clinic keeps control of its own diary.
- How far ahead can I open slots?
- Up to a month ahead.
- Are reminders sent on SMS or WhatsApp?
- WhatsApp. In India that is the channel patients actually read, and it is the same thread the clinic already uses for follow-ups.
- Can a visiting consultant have their own availability?
- Yes. EnamDoc has a consultant affiliation system: a clinic can invite a specialist, and that consultant sets their own availability and has visits tracked against them.
